Paul Sprangers is an entrepreneur, musician, writer and producer who has read way too many self-help books.

After cutting his teeth in the music industry as an intern at Matador Records and Nasty Little Man PR (working for Beck, The Beastie Boys, Sonic Youth, Foo Fighters, and more) he formed the indie band Hockey Night which released a full-length album on Lookout! Records. He then co-founded the internationally touring rock act Free Energy. Their first record was produced by James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem and released on his NYC dance label DFA Records. Many years of touring, playing festivals and barfing in exotic countries commenced. Free Energy's work has appeared in multiple long running ad campaigns, tv shows, films and video games.

While Free Energy recorded their sophomore album, Paul graduated from the Upright Citizens' Brigade Theater in LA where he studied improvisation and music improv (writing songs on the spot, live, in front of an audience). He started composing original scores for friends' projects and collaborating with other songwriters.

During this time Paul became vegan to heal his asthma and sinus issues. He tried eggplant bacon at a potluck and decided to start a business. He founded Power Plant Foods which currently sells organic eggplant jerky in natural foods stores around the country as well as thrive market.com and other e-commerce platforms.

Paul is from Minnesota but he lives in Los Angeles with his Fiance and their two Holland Lop buns, Davey and Yoshi.
